The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives in Delta, Asaba allegedly opened fire at suspected drug dealers in the area. Unfortunately, the bullet hit a two-year-old and his sister in front of their mother's shop.

It was reported that Ivan Omhonria did not survive the shot because the bullet pierced his abdomen but his sister, Eromonsele, was saved. Although the kids were immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba when the incident occurred, the severity of their injuries was different.

This is sad news and the mother of these kids has been hospitalized following the news of the death of her baby.

An eyewitness said the deceased was supposed to graduate from pre-nursery school with his colleagues next week Tuesday. Unfortunately, the little boy's life has been cut short by the carelessness of the NDLEA operatives.

Delta state commandment of NDLEA, Mr. John Tunde has spoken about some misconceptions surrounding the incident. Videos circulating the internet accused NDLEA operatives of deliberately shooting at the little kids. He said the men of NDLEA didn't intentionally shoot them, "Our men did not open fire at any shop."

Here is a video recorded by the father of the kids.
