Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial nomination in the state.

According to news reports, Sanwo-Olu was the only candidate approved by the party's election committee. Wale Oluwo and Abdul-Ahmed Mustapha, the other two, were disqualified.

Sanwo-Olu won the primaries, which were held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Onikan, Lagos, with a total of 1,170 votes.

More than 1,225 delegates were expected to participate in the voting, with 1,198 of them being credentialed.
