5 residents in Edo community abducted by some bandits


About 5 residents of a community in Edo State have been abducted in Edo state recently by some bandits.
This incident occurred in Igarra, headquarters of the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in Edo State.

Some bandits were suspected to be behind the attack and kidnap of these people. Rhes suspects have also taken over the various farm roads in that particular area.

These people who were kidnapped were taken different times. 1 person was abducted on Tuesday while 4 people were abducted on Wednesday.

It was a top commander of the Vigilante Group who confirmed this incident. He revealed that the vigilante had been searching through the forest region for hese bandits and the kidnapped victims but haven't found them.

He shared that the bandits had just picked people they saw along the farm road behind the Technical College hostel and also from behind the Gloryland School in Igarra.

He revealed that these bandits have contacted one of the families of the victims they abducted. They went ahead to demand for N12m.
He says they haven't called ever since the day they called to ask for ransom.

He revealed that just last week, they also kidnapped 4 people near Aiyegunle and he killed another person.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Chidi Nwabuzor has revealed that he hasn't received any report of the incident.
