Some Scavengers are feared to be dead as they got trapped under these buildings.

The Police in Kano State have confirmed this incident that some of these demolished buildings have some people trapped.

SP Abdullah Haruna Kiyawa who is the spokesman of the Kano State police command was the one who revealed this statement.

Recall that some suspected scavengers had been arrested prior to this due to trespassing and theft and they didn't yield to the warnings given to them.

These scavengers would still roam around these areas.

Sadly, yesterday, Thursday, some reports came that some scavengers were trapped under the remnants of some of the demolished. This was at Daula Hotel and Eid Praying Ground.

He revealed that rescue work has begun and the Commissioner of Police has joined the rescue workers from the State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA) as well as the State Government officials.

He went ahead to sympathize with the families of the victims. He also advised community leaders and families to want their young to avoid such areas or sites.
