DSS charges Emefiele to court

One month after the arrest of the suspended CBN governor Godwin Emefiele, the Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that he has been charged to court.

Recall that President Tinubu ordered the arrest of Emefiele in June 2023 after he was inaugurated into power and he has been in custody of the DSS since then.

Yesterday, a court in Abuja issued an order to the DSS that they should either charge Emefiele to court or release him on bail within one week.

The court urged the DSS to maintain professionalism, justice and fairness in handling the matter.
