Nworgu claimed silver at the Para Powerlifting event in the women's ~41kg event. The Nigerian lifted 106kg in her first attempt, then smashed the Paralympic Record set by Guo Lingling (109kg) at the Tokyo2020 Paralympics by lifting 112kg in her second attempt.

However, the Chinese Cui Zhe lifted 108kg and 113kg to eclipse that record in her first and second tries. Undaunted, Nworgu again set another Paralympic Record in her third attempt, lifting 118kg.

Zhe lifted 119kg to set a Paralympic Record and claim Gold, leaving the Nigerian, Nworgu for Silver and Bronze for Brazil's Lara Aparecida de Lima.

Recall that Mariam Eniola Bolaji won Nigeria's first medal in the parabadminton event.
