On Saturday, the Federal Department of Youth Sports Development will hold a 10-member committee in Abuja to oversee the Nigerian Basketball Federation.

The Ministry of Education announced the committee last week. The recall is the result of an NBBF crisis that lasted nearly 20 years. The committee includes such members as D. Henry Nzekwu (Chairman), Udon Ubon Humapwa, Frank Jitubho, President of Zenith Bank, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, Peter Nelson, group captains Rahinatu Garba, Aderemi Adevunmi, Oluchi Nzekwe and Sani Adio.

Sunday Deir, head of media and public relations, said in a statement that the committee will be formed this weekend. "Preparations for the opening of the IMC on Saturday 4 June 2022 at GOR Package B at the Aviola National Stadium in Moshud, Abuja have been completed."

The competition is preceded by a game between the two FCT schools. After the opening, the committee must draw up a youth basket.
