Gas explosion in china restaurant kills 31 and injures seven.
An explosion at a restaurant in China has led to the death of 31 people and others injured.
This incident happened in the Chinese city of Yinchuan, in northwest Ningxia region.
This explosion caused by a gas leak occurred at a barbecue restaurant on Wednesday night.
The leak of a liquified gas tank inside the restaurant had caused this. It happened around 8:40 p.m.
Other than those who died, 7 others were injured and receiving treatment for burns and cuts in the hospital and one person is in critical condition.
Emergency workers responded to this explosion which happened yesterday.
The Local fire authorities had sent 20 vehicles and over a hundred personnel to the scene of the explosion.
They began rescue operations and began to lift people out on stretchers.
Investigations revealed that the staff had smelt the gas an hour before the explosion occurred. They had then found the valve of the gas tank had broken, and sent another staff to buy a new one.
As they were replacing the valve, the explosion occurred.
The Police have detained nine people and they nclude the restaurant’s manager, some employees and shareholders
