Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun appoints Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya as the new sports ambassador of the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun received the Guinness World Record holder for the longest chess marathon, Tunde Onakoya, and his parents at his office at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta on Thursday. Dapo Abiodun who was blown away by the hard work and resilence of the chess champion, announced a statewide chess competition at this year's National Sports Festival in honor of Tunde Onakoya.
The Governor also announced the Tunde Onakoya prize to reward the competition's winner in honor of the chess champion and to promote his tremendous contributions to the chess game in the state.
