Gunmen kill INEC staff and kidnap wife in Ebonyi State
Some suspected gunmen have killed a staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This man has been identified as Mr. Emmanuel Igwe.
The victim was a Assistant Electoral Officer in Afikpo North LGA.
He was shot dead by these gunmen around the Ivo Local Government Area axis in Ebonyi.
The deceased had been on his way back from Abia State when he encountered these people.
Reports also revealed that his wife whose name has been withheld was also kidnapped.
SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya who is the Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi State confirmed this incident.
He revealed that the incident had occurred on Sunday. The gunmen had shot at the man through his windscreen.
They also revealed how the police has begun to search for these criminals.
