Nigerian singer Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu popularly known as Odumodublvck has stated that he supports his senior colleague's Wizkid's statement that the hip-hop genre is dead.

As a rapper, Odumodublvck said he was tremendously happy about Wizkid's statement because his album "Eziokwu" is all about the truth about the Hip-hop genre. He said if Wizkid feels the genre is dead, then he is completely right.

He stated that hip-hop artists want to top the charts by force but they are declining. As a result, they will go and feature Afrobeats artists like Fireboy DML, Oxlade or Wizkid on a track so they can deliver a catchy hook on the song. "Now, the song is no longer about the rap bars, it's about the hook.", he said.

He said Nigerian rappers are trying so hard to sound like American counterparts such as Kendrick Lamar. He urged them to deliver a nice hook on their songs and not place too much focus on the rap. He expressed that Nigerians love songs that include banter that they can easily vibe to.

Odumodublvck also hinted to fans that he has an unreleased song with Shallipopi which will be out in December. He commended the artist's style of music saying there is a certain energy Shallipopi's songs oozes when it's played in the club.

He said people can listen to Wizkid, Burna Boy or any other artist in the club but when Shallipopi's song comes on, it's on a different level. Odumodublvck said he wants his team to create that safe space for others too through his music.
