Most retail traders chase fast-moving stocks, but disciplined investors focus on strategy, timing, and liquidity. One clear opportunity is United Capital Plc, where dividend history and earnings momentum often attract smart money before announcements. Buying early and exiting into strength gives a clear edge.
Similarly, Wema Bank Plc presents a re-rating opportunity. With improving fundamentals and digital banking growth, patient investors can benefit as the market gradually reprices its value.
For higher risk players, penny stocks like ABC Transport Plc and Chams Plc offer quick gains driven by retail hype. The key is simple: enter early, exit quickly, and avoid emotional attachment.
Earnings season also provides a powerful setup—focus on stocks that show strong volume-backed breakouts after results. This reduces guesswork and aligns you with confirmed market direction.
Finally, always track institutional activity in names like Zenith Bank Plc and GTCO Plc. Volume spikes often signal smart money positioning.
In the end, success in the market isn’t about chasing noise—it’s about spotting value early, managing risk, and thinking differently from the crowd.

I will choose chams over ABC transport, then the rest you said will partake on them

Yes — ABC Transport Plc is still very much in business, and not just surviving… it’s actually showing signs of a strong turnaround story.
Is ABC Transport still active?
Yes.
They are fully operational in:
Passenger transport (interstate travel)
Logistics & cargo services
Hospitality (e.g., transit hotels)
Vehicle/truck assembly & related businesses
They’ve even expanded through diversification, which is key to their recent growth.

First, I will invest three- quarters in blue chip companies in 6 sectors, namely health, banking and finance, food, transport, telecommunications and construction.

Second, I will put the remaining quarter on up and coming fintech and technology companies.

Good one. ABC has made investors millions this year alone

If I had ₦1M today, here’s how I’d think about it on the Nigerian market, balancing growth, income, and risk:
1. Tier-1 Banks – ₦400k
Stocks like GTCO, Zenith, Access.
Why: Strong fundamentals, consistent dividends, resilient to macro swings.
Strategy: Hold for both dividends and long-term capital gains.
2. Consumer Staples / Industrials – ₦200k
Stocks like Nestlé Nigeria, Dangote Cement, Unilever.
Why: Defend against volatility, these companies survive tough economic conditions.
Strategy: Long-term growth + modest dividends.
3. ETFs & Diversification – ₦200k
Meristem Growth / Value ETFs, NewGold ETF.
Why: Spread risk, get exposure to multiple sectors, safe-haven (gold).
Strategy: Ride broader market trends, passive growth.
4. Fixed Income – ₦100k
1-year Treasury Bills or FGN Bonds, ~19–20% yields.
Why: Lock in safe returns, act as portfolio ballast.
5. Opportunistic / Speculative – ₦100k
Small portion for futures, high-volatility stocks, or short-term trades.
Why: Chance for higher returns if timed well, but keep exposure limited.
