Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has revealed that she is one step away from going out of her normal mental state.

She revealed this while speaking to American rapper Kendrick Lamar on The Interview magazine's latest issue.

She said she's been working tirelessly in the studio and driving herself crazy but the only thing holding her from turning into a mental patient is her team.

She said that if she's left alone for just two days all by herself, she will turn into a mad scientist in a cartoon movie.

She said she likes to be in the studio alone without anyone but the only person she trusts to be in the studio with her is her manager and producer.

They both have to be on standby because sometimes things get out of hand and she needs someone to be there for her.

Tems spoke about how much people want her to change her personality or sound to fit in but she said she isn't moved by what anyone thinks.

She said she sees herself as being in a zoo where there are different animals for people to see. She expressed that the animals don't change their behavior because people are looking at them.

She said, "They’re always going to be who they are. So why should I change?"
