Popular media personality and show host Adesope Olajide also known as Shopsydoo has called on all Nigerian artists to boycott the Grammys following their loss at the event yesterday.

For the first time in history, all the Nigerian artists nominated at the 2024 Grammys lost all their nominations at the event yesterday. Davido lost 3, Burna Boy lost 4 while Olamide, Asake, and Ayra 3 lost one each, making it a total of 10.

Adesope took to social media yesterday to call out the organizers of the award ceremony for playing Fela Anikulapo-Kuti's "Water" instead of Tyla's "Water" during her acceptance speech. Adesope said the Grammys know nothing about the African culture. Therefore, African artists shouldn't waste their energy on them.

Adesope stated that the Recording Academy only uses African artists to promote their events each year. He said they used Davido to promote their platform before the award because of the huge Nigerian audience.
