Lion mercilessly shot to death for killing OAU zookeeper
The lion who killed an OAU zookeeper has been gunned down by the colleagues of the deceased. The deceased whose name was Olabode Olawuyi was a veterinary technologist who had been nursing the lion for nine years. The lion allegedly killed Olawuyi when he was feeding it and its mates. The staff members who were available at the time did their best to prevent Olawuyi from dying but before they could yank him off the grip of the lion, the deceased had been severely injured.
Sadly, it was too late and Olawuyi died on the spot despite the first aid treatment administered to revive him. When the news reached the Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), he suspended the ongoing meeting and headed to the scene of the incident to investigate the matter. However, Olawuyi was already dead and the VC sent his condolence to the family of the deceased.
