Man kills his mother for not giving him money to buy hard drug
A man in Rivers state has been arrested by the police for killing his mother. This man killed his mother for not giving him money to buy hard drugs.
This man has been identified as Owate Bode. The police have arrested him. The incident happened on Saturday in Eleme Local Government Area, in Rivers State.
SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who is the Spokesperson for Rivers state police Command was the one who confirmed the incident.
She mentioned that he has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID).
She mentioned that this man has confessed to the crime. He smashed his mother's head with a hoe.
CP Okon Effiong who is the Commissioner of Police has ordered an independent investigation into the matter.
This man had demanded a sum of N10,000 from his mother. He planned to use this money to buy hard drugs but his mother denied his request. He then hit her head repeatedly with the hoe.
It was the community youth who apprehended him before handing him over to the police. They have also taken his mother's body to the morgue.
