Man sentenced to 26 years in jail for defiling a 13 year old has been released.

A man who is a resident of Kano State and was sentenced to 26 years in jail for defiling a 13 year old girl has been released.

This man is Yunusa Dahiru and he is also known as Yellow. He was sent to prison for a 26 year jail term at the Nigerian Correctional Service facility.

His crimes were child trafficking and sexual assault. He had assaulted a young girl named Ese Oruru. He was freed just last Saturday.

It was the spokesperson of the Kano Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, DSC Musbahu Lawan Kofar-Naisa who confirmed the news of his release on Saturday.

This man had abducted this little girl in 2015 and she was allegedly forcefully married and impregnated by this man.

It was a Federal High Court sitting in Bayelsa State who then sentenced him to 26 years.
An appeal was then made to the Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal who reduced the sentence to 7 years.

The spokesperson revealed that he has been behaving well while in the correctional facility till now. They said he also enrolled in secondary education in the correctional facility.
