Man tried in court for stealing goods worth N3.9m in Lagos


A man who was found guilty of theft has been tried in a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State.
This was on Friday, June 30th 2023.

The Court ordered the remand of a man who has been identified as Smart Norbert. He is 25 years old.

This man had stolen some goods which were worth N3.9m. These properties belig to someone named Aboson Omolara. This was in Ikoyi, Lagos state. area of the state.

The magistrate who ordered that he be remanded is Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun. This was on three counts which bordered on burgling, stealing and use of a harmful object.

This man had committed this act on the 16th of June 2023. It was the prosecutor, Rita Momoh, who revealed this to the Court.

He broke into this house located at No. 16, King Ologun Kutere, Park View Estate, in Ikoyi, Lagos State and stole some goods worth millions.

They stole items like gold jewelry, phones, wristwatches, an Access Bank ATM card etc.

The Magistrate also didn't take the plea of the defendant and then ordered that they remanded him at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre. This is until they receive legal advice from the DPP.

They also adjourned the case till July 27, 2023.
