Market Performance Summary- Monday, July 21st, 2025
The Nigerian equities market recorded another day of gains, as the NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) moved up by 0.18%.
The Index closed at 131,826.77 points, up from 131,585.21 in the previous session.
This brings the Year-to-Date (YTD) return to a solid +27.76%.


Trading Activity
However, despite the market’s gain, trading activity declined significantly:
Volume traded dropped by -71.57%, from 2.13 billion shares to 604.91 million.
Market turnover (value of shares traded) also fell sharply by -47.79%, from ₦37.22 billion to ₦19.43 billion.
A total of 27,468 deals were recorded during the session.


Market Breadth & Momentum
The market breadth stood at 0.67x, which means there were fewer gainers than losers:

49 stocks declined.
Volume increased for 64 companies and decreased for 77 companies.
