Nigerian upcoming artist and Mohbad's childhood friend Owodunni Ibrahim popularly known as Primeboy has revealed that he and Mohbad had a quarrel a few days before his death.
Primeboy opened up to TVC News on his relationship with the late singer following his questioning at the Lagos State Police Command.
Primeboy revealed that he was with his childhood friend Mohbad during his last show in Ikorodu before he was pronounced dead a few days later.
According to him, he and Mohbad's wife Omowunmi went to Ikorodu with Mohbad to the show but something unusual happened when they got to Ebute Metta. He said while they were all in the car, he noticed that Mohbad and his wife were having a heated argument but he wasn't aware of what happened between them.
It seemed like a family affair so he didn't want to intervene. After the show, Mohbad was still angry and he wanted to live in a hurry but he asked him to calm down for a while because he cannot leave without other artists like Zlatan who he came with. They had to leave together in a convoy and it wouldn't speak well if he left alone.
Primeboy noticed Mohbad didn't want to stay inside the car with his wife because of their fight. He was trying to calm him down but Mohbad became more furious with Primeboy saying he didn't give him a chance to talk things out. He asked Mohbad to keep his mood swings till they get home and have fun at the show but Mohbad took it the wrong way, came down from the car and started hitting him, asking him to come down from the car.
The soldiers there came to his rescue and separated them so he made it backstage and found Cubana Chief Priest, explaining what happened to him. Few minutes later, he couldn't find Mohbad or the cars they came with and he was surprised. He found his way and got home alone.
Primeboy said that was the last time he saw Mohbad. He made efforts to see him again because he forgot his bag inside his car which had his passport and some important documents in it. He tried retrieving his bag and he called Mohbad's wife Omowunmi but she told him clearly not to visit them for sometime.
He said he texted her a couple of times but she stopped replying so he reached out to some of Mohbad's guys and he collected his bag. His manager who helped him with the bag said he didn't see Mohbad but he only saw some boys playing in his compound. A day after, he went to the Mainland with his guys and that was how he heard the news about his death.
As soon as he heard the news, he went online to make a post because he knew about the threats and bullying Mohbad faced before he died. Three hours later, he started getting rumors flying around that he hit his friend with a charm ring.
Primeboy said he didn't kill his friend Mohbad and he isn't a criminal. He also mentioned that he wasn't invited by the police.
