The Minister for Interior in Nigeria, Honourable Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has announced that a new online application for an international passport will launch today, 8th January, 2024.
On Friday, 5th January 2024, the minister conducted an online portal demonstration alongside Mrs. Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service. Various key stakeholders and development partners were present during the session to witness the demonstration.
According to the Minister, Nigerians at home and in the diaspora deserve the best. Before now, Nigerians, after capturing their biometrics for their passports, have to wait for about 3 months or more before receiving them.
