At the close of trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX) today, a total of 544.07 million shares were exchanged in 13,237 deals, amounting to a market turnover of NGN 19.34 billion. Compared to the previous trading session on Thursday, March 27, there was a 28% increase in trading volume, a 111% surge in market turnover, and a 16% rise in the number of deals.

The market capitalization now stands at NGN 66.3 trillion, reflecting overall market strength.

Market Performance

A total of 126 equities participated in trading, with 24 gainers and 33 losers recorded.

Top Gainers
• Abbey Mortgage Bank led the market with a 10% gain, closing at NGN 4.73 per share.
• UPDC Plc also saw a 10% increase in share price.
• Northern Nigeria Flour Mills gained 9.96%.
• Mutual Benefits Assurance followed closely, appreciating by 9.38%.

Top Losers
• Africa Prudential recorded the biggest decline of the day, losing 10% to close at NGN 13.05 per share.
• International Energy Insurance also dropped by 10%.
• Cadbury Nigeria fell by 9.42%.
• UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust declined by 9.09%.
