NGX TRADING SUMMARY FOR THURSDAY, May 30, 2024

At the end of Thursday's trading session on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), 309,714,120 shares were traded in 7,035 deals, amounting to NGN 5,436,181,966.37. This represents a 40% decline in volume, a 14% improvement in turnover, and a 10% decline in deals compared to the previous trading day. The current market capitalization is NGN 56.2 trillion.

Out of 121 NGX listed equities, 32 gained and 12 lost. Seplat Petroleum Development Co. led the gainers with a 10% increase, closing at NGN 3,410.00 per share, followed by International Energy Insurance (+10%), Eterna (+9.87%), and Consolidated Hallmark Holdings (+9.84%). Cornerstone Insurance Company led the losers with an 8.81% drop to NGN 1.76 per share, followed by International Breweries (-8.75%), Prestige Assurance Company (-8.47%), and Universal Insurance Company (-5.71%). Access Holdings had the highest volume with 51.8 million shares traded, followed by Zenith Bank (39.2m), Universal Insurance Company (21.2m), and FCMB Group (20.9m).
