The Governor of Niger State, Umaru Bago, has banned civil workers in the state from wearing kaftan and babaringa to work. He doesn't want any of them wearing their native attire to their various offices from Monday to Thursday.

This official announcement was relayed at Barians and Hammers Rice City located at Wushishi Local Government during the land development and preparation equipment presentation.

The governor added that anyone who fails to comply with the above order would bear the consequences of breaking the rule, which is dismissal from service.

This rule has become effective since Monday. Anyone who wishes to continue wearing their favorite kaftan or babaringa between Monday and Thursday should resign because work is no place to display their native attire.
