Onitsha FCMB manager bags 121 years imprisonment for embezzling customers N112 million

Nwachukwu Placidus, a manager at one Onitsha FCMB bank has been reportedly imprisoned for embezzling N112 million from a customer's account. He was sentenced to 121 years imprisonment after he diverted N112,100,000 from a customer's fixed deposit account for his personal gain.

The anti-graft agency, EFCC, was alerted about this fraudulent diversion of funds and immediately acted upon the information received. Nwachukwu was charged with 16 offenses including theft, forgery, uttering, false pretense, etc. They also presented evidence and four witnesses to the court of law after he pleaded not guilty.

Mind you, this diversion of funds took place in 2014 after he allegedly lied to have deposited N121 million into the customer's account. Now, he has been proven guilty by the court and was ordered to refund the money he embezzled while serving the jail term. He has been instructed to refund the money to Idemili Microfinance Bank.
