Over 70 people die in Ramadan charity stampede in Yemen
Just recently, over 70 people, at least 78 have died during the Ramadan charity event in Yemen.
These people were crushed to death due to how hundreds of people gathered together in the Ramadan charity event.
They gathered to receive donations last night, April 19, 2023.
Other than those who died, many were also injured and some are reported to be in critical condition.
This Ramadan charity is funded by some businessmen who give out food to poor people during Ramadan.
Sources state that the crowd of people were scared after a gunshot was heard.
A gunshot was fired into the air to control the crowd who had gathered and also struck an electrical wire and this exploded. The sound that startled the crowd.
Then there was a stampede as people panicked.
This led to the death of many as they were crushed by the large crowd.
