Chidiebere Okoroafor, the General overseer of the Altar of Solution and Healing Assembly church in Rivers State has been sentenced to death for killing his choir mistress after impregnating her.

The name of the deceased is Orlunma Nwagba. The Rivers State pastor also faced murder charges for the killing Orlunma's friend and daughter on the 11th of December 2017.

The judge in charge of Okoroafor's case, S.O. Benson pronounced him guilty after several rounds of investigation and evidence. He said the pastor is guilty as charged and should be sentenced to death by hanging or injected with a lethal injection.

A lethal injection is an injection filled with substances that are intended to kill someone, in this case, a criminal.

The judgment passed on Okoroafor's case made Precious Ordu, a prosecution from the Ministry of Justice delighted. He expressed his thoughts on this case, saying that justice has finally prevailed.

"Justice has been served to the state, the complainant, and the convict. This will serve as a deterrent to all those who intend to commit the same offense because it is justice for all," he said.

On the other side of the coin, the state counsel for the defendant, Innocent Ekwu, wasn't pleased with the judgment. He mentioned they will be filing an appeal to prove once again that the defendant is not guilty as charged.
