Police arrest 53 suspected cultists in Edo State

The Edo State Police commander have made the arrest of about 53 suspected cultists in Edo State. It was the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara, who revealed this information.

He shared this in a statement yesterday which was Thursday. He said 53 persons had been arrested and this is in connection with cult-related activities within the state.

He went ahead to warn the residents and some organizations to stop supporting these cultists groups by aiding their logistics and criminal activities.
He revealed that there was a serious hike in secret cult activities in Edo State. Tjere had also been a hike in killings within the state.

He revealed that these cultists had been having secret meetings in different areas of the state creating plans of action for their next strike and have succeeded in killing some residents.

The commissioner revealed that he had to meet with the command tactical team and gave them the order to raid the hideout of these cultists dens and arrest all.

The anti-cultism, Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Units of the police command alongside the Edo State Security Network then began their operations after they received intelligence.

They carried out this raid on the 13th of July and were able to arrest about 53 suspects in different parts of the state.
He says they have investigated these suspects and have processed them to court. The suspects are currently in Prison.

He went on to warn other cultists who are still out there to beware.
