Police arrest suspects in case of drowned UNIBEN student, corpse recovered.
Officers of the Edo State Police Command have made of arrests of some suspects in the case of the drowned UNiBEN student.
The have arrested these 2 students who are students of the University of Benin in Edo State.
They have been identified as Samson Kennedy and Wilfred Emmanuel.
This was after the police recovered the body of their friend who had drowned.
The body has been identified as that of Francis Aniude. They recovered the body from the Ekosodin River in Ekosodin community.
It was the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed this to newsmen.
He revealed that it was during the investigations which are still ongoing that that made this arrest. They are trying to understand the motive begine the death of the victim.
A witness whose name was not disclosed revealed that the suspects had invited the deceased for a swim at that river and after this boy drowned, the suspects ran back to the community to seek for help.
The boy had died before he was rescued.
It was some local divers who discovered the body of the boy and then arrested the suspects.
The family of the victim raised concern after seeing some peeled skin around his neck amd blood on his lips.
They have demanded for an autopsy.
They have also reported this case at the Ugbowo Police Station.
It was the police who led these divers who recovered the body.
