Police arrest teacher for attempting to traffick students in Abia state
The police in Abia state have arrested a man who has been identified as Ikechukwu Uduma. This man is a secondary school teacher, and he had attempted to traffic students in the state.
He wasn't working alone and he had an accomplice, Enyiazu Godswill, who has also been arrested.
It was the men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State, who made the arrest.
This 33 year old man had plans to traffic two female students.
It was the state NSCDC Commandant, Paul Igwebuike who revealed this information. He mentioned this during a press briefing. He revealed that the officers had nabbed the suspects around 12.20am on Thursday.
They paraded these men before journalists yesterday, Friday in Umuahia.
Mr Igwebuike also added that this suspect is a math teachers in Christ Firm International School, Ubaha, Umunna Nsulu.
He said that the plans were in motion to traffic 2 underage girls from this school and take them to Lagos State.
He revealed how he had dispatched his men and traced him and arrested him. They found him at the Unique Life Hotel in Umuahia. They were able to rescue the two girls.
Investigation also revealed that these suspects had planned to move the victims to Lagos as soon as they were done with their last exam on Wednesday.
We also learn that this isn't the teachers first time and he had earlier trafficked some other young girls.
They were able to recover some Items including a white Nissan Primera vehicle and some bags which contained the personal items of the victims.
The students had also revealed that the teacher told them they were going to Lagos to work.
