Rivers Commissioner mourns the death of police officer killed during an attack in the state
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, mourns the death of one of the patriotic police officers who was brutally murdered during an attack in the state. The name of the deceased was Inspector Sunday Baba. He served at the Rumuolumeni area of Rivers State but unfortunately lost his life during an attack.
The officers were able to retrieve the vehicle of the perpetrators even though none of them was caught. In there, they found Sunday's phone with 51 missed calls from his wife. She had incessantly called his phone when she didn't see him return home and with no idea that he had passed on. The state command had to deliver the heart-wrenching news to the widow while bearing in mind that Sunday sacrificed his life on duty.
Tunji wrote, "Being a police officer means leaving home in good health, never certain of returning alive. Those who take the lives of police officers are murdering those who stand as guardians of the people. Let's honor the sacrifices of our officers, may their sacrifice not be in vain. Goodbye, Sunday."
