On a Live stream, singer Seun Kuti slammed Nigerian artists over the habit of wearing diamond necklaces to shows. He said they should stop copying the style of the African Americans and reminded them about how Black people suffered in the early days. Seun said that those diamonds they happily purchased were dug by our forefathers who were colonized by the whites.
Therefore, Africans shouldn't be happy to purchase such necklaces. He added that Africans should be proud of their culture because wearing expensive diamond necklaces is becoming a trend in the music industry.
