Stop selling us short in movies, Yul Edochie sends a memo to Nigerian producers

Actor Yul Edochie sends a memo to Nigerian movie producers, cautioning them against producing movies that sell us short. From his observation, African movies showcase Blacks as foolish whenever they are making a movie abroad. But when White people make movies about visiting Africa, they tend to showcase themselves as wise and the most intelligent tourists ever.

So, why not emulate them and stop producing movies that underrate black people and glorify the whites? This was the question Yul threw at movie producers, and he hopes that they implement this in upcoming films. He believes that they are capable of writing storylines that present black people as superheroes and not the common show-off of stupidity.

As an actor, he is aware of how the industry operates and would really love to see Nigerian movie producers hone their craft to produce beautiful storylines.
