Nigerian singer and activist Seun Kuti has stated that the Nigerian Police is the biggest kidnapping group in Nigeria.
In a recent video, Seun Kuti addressed the recent kidnappings across the country saying most of these kidnaps are orchestrated by the Nigerian police. Seun recounts his experience when he was locked up in Panti prison saying he discovered a lot during his stay there.
He said all the kidnapping gangs have a policeman among them. Most of the time, the policeman is the leader of the gang. Seun Kuti further stated that most Nigerians have been kidnapped by the Nigerian police. He said the act of collecting bail from detainees at the police station is similar to kidnappers receiving ransom from their victims.
Seun Kuti said any Nigerian who has once paid the Nigerian police to be released has been kidnapped because bail is supposed to be free.
