UN food agency resumes operations in Sudan

The United Nations World Food Programme has lifted the suspension of their operations in Sudan.

They have revealed that they would end the suspension which they placed on their operations just last month.

Recall they suspended their operation in Sudan after the death of 3 of their team members/workers.

The WFP agency had put this suspension in place on the 16th of April after 3 of their people were killed in the crisis in Sudan.

The WFP workers were killed on the 15th of April during the crisis.

Just yesterday, May 1st, 2023, the executive director of the World Food Program, Cindy McCain announced that they would be resuming their program.

She revealed this on twitter on Monday. She said they will resume their operations immediately so as to provide assistance that is needed desperately to save lives.
