ST. AUGUSTINE, FL — A shocking attempted kidnapping was caught on surveillance video outside a business in St. Augustine and authorities say the brave victim’s quick thinking may have saved her life. Surveillance footage shows the moment a man forcefully drags a female employee out of the store and toward his truck. But instead of going quietly, the woman fights back with everything she has, screaming, resisting, and drawing attention from bystanders. According to police, the suspect had just committed a robbery inside the business when he tried to abduct the woman. “The victim in this situation did everything right— she screamed, fought back, and made noise to attract attention,” the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. A bystander who saw the struggle intervened, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. The suspect, 31-year-old Theodore Michael Tundidor, didn’t get far. Florida Fish and Wildlife officers later spotted him driving recklessly and took him into custody. He now faces serious charges, including kidnapping, robbery, and grand theft auto.
