Super Eagles footballer Alex Iwobi finally opens up on why he left social media after fans bullied him for his poor performance in the just-concluded AFCON tournament.

Recall that Alex Iwobi deleted all his Instagram posts after he was being trolled by Nigerians yesterday following his performance at the AFCON.

In an interview with Nigeria's sports minister John Eno, Alex Iwobi said he has taken himself off social media so he is no longer aware of the derogatory and crude remarks thrown at him. The sports minister, John Eno, encouraged Iwobi, telling him to cheer up and never stop believing in himself because he tried his best for his country.

Eno said he is proud of Iwobi and Nigerians are also proud of him. He said those bullying him are the minority and their opinions don't count.
