Atalanta winger, Ademola Lookman, became the first African footballer to score a hat-trick in the final of a UEFA competition.

Also, Lookman was the third Nigerian to score in the final of the Europa League after Alex Iwobi scored for Arsenal against Chelsea in the Europa League final in 2019 and Joe Aribo scored for Rangers in 2022 against Frankfurt.

Lookman scored a brace in the first 25 minutes of the game against the current German Bundesliga Champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
