Adeoye Aribasoye revealed as the new Ekiti Assembly speaker
Adeoye Aribasoye, has been revealed as the new speaker of Ekiti State seventh assembly.
He was the former Chief Whip of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
He is the chairman of the House committee on media and public affairs of the 6th Assembly, and he also represents Ikole constituency 2 in the Assembly.
He was revealed as the Speaker of the House in Ekiti State yesterday, Tuesday. He had been unopposed at the inaugural sitting on Tuesday.
The assembly consists of 26 members, 2 of which are from the Social Democratic Party(SDP) while the other 24 are from the All Progressives Congress(APC).
The Governor of the state, Biodun Oyebanji had given his proclamation which is in line with the constitutional provision.
The deputy speaker for the house has also been revealed and that is Bolaji Olagbaju. He had also emerged unopposed by anyone.
He is a lawmaker from Ado-Ekiti constituency two.
The new speaker then went ahead to commend everyone including the leadership of the APC for putting their trust and confidence in him.
He promised to make sure he runs the legislative arm towards the overall development of Ekiti state.
