Ghanaian singer Black Sheriff, Samini Dagaati, and others encourage Ghanaian TV, radio stations, and clubs to play more of Ghanaian songs

Black Sheriff, Samini Dagaati, and a few other Ghanaian singers had encouraged all Ghanaian TV stations, radio stations, and clubs to play more Ghanaian songs. When Samini spoke, he complained about how foreign music is stripping the uniqueness of Ghanaian music from people's minds, which is unpleasant. He added that more indigenous music should be appreciated instead of foreign music as it would help to promote their artists and the Ghanaian culture would be more appreciated.

Additionally, Samini said that more of Ghanaian music should be played within their territory. He added that when tourists visit Ghana, it would make no sense for them to listen to 70% foreign music and 30% Ghanaian music. He cited an example of how several Kenyan airwaves have East African music on repeat, which shows how much they love and appreciate their indigenous artists.

He further stated that if Ghanaians truly value their tourists, they should ensure that these tourists are fed with more of their music. "It has to be a deliberate approach. It has to be strategic and deliberate, without no malice to any other force or any other group. Let's make sure ours is ours, and let's make it appealing to the masses," he pleaded.
