The Governor of kwara state, Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq has spoken about the rejection of old naira notes stating that it is a serious crime. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been serving as the governor of kwara state since 2019 and is running for a second term.

Mr Rafiu Ajakaye who is the spokesperson for the governor of kwara state announced this information as issue in a statement by the governor.

He went ahead to warn residents in kwara state that rejecting the old naira notes is an offense. He has advised the readers, business owners and others to accept and make use of this money.

Just recently the Supreme Court ordered that the old naira notes are still legal tender till December 31st, 2023 but some people and some banks weren't accepting this money which made things difficult.

The Governor has come out to say, we must follow these directives as given by the court and make use of the old naira notes which are still legal till the end of the year. The banks are now issuing this old naira and any further rejection is a breach of the directives of the supreme Court.
