The HR professionals at Sages & Scribe consulting firm will be holding a 2-day summit in August with the theme "Employee Wellness for Productivity and Performance."

The event which is set to hold in Lagos from August 2nd to 3rd was birthed by the movement to prioritize every worker's psychosocial health beyond medical services.

This summit is a part of the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) whose aim is to improve worker's efficiency at the workplace.

In the statement released by the firm, its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Consultant, in the name of Adelowo Adesina, said that various statistics have disclosed Nigeria as a country ranking low in human and industrial productivity.

That's because the average Nigerian worker's working condition is traumatizing and stressful, causing workers to be burnt out and less efficient. For this reason, professionals need to prioritize individual health and wellness at the workplace.

Adesina further stated that the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) summit will be addressing this issue by professionally organizing workshops aimed at teaching trauma management, stress management, and work-life balance to Nigerian workers.

The summit is endorsed by recognized institutions in Nigeria and other African countries such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, National Productivity Centre, Nigerian Employers Consultative Association, Employee Assistance Programme, Africa, Ghana, and Employee Assistance Professionals Association of South Africa.
