Nigeria's Senate President, Godswill Akpabio says he doesn’t believe that those behind the gruesome killing of the 16 soldiers in Okuama community in Ughelli South LGA area of Delta state are from the Niger Delta.
Speaking at the National Assembly yesterday, March 19, 2024, Sen. Akpabio opposed a lawmaker who called for relief and assistance to the community where the unfortunate incident occurred. Since the incident on March 14, 2024, houses have been razed down and residents have fled the community due to reports of several deaths.
Godswill Akpabio stated that losing 16 military personnel is heart-wrenching, saying the community should prepare for the consequences of their actions. He called for a thorough investigation to capture the evil perpetrators and bring them to book.
