Ladipo market traders fire shots to jubilate after re-opening of market

Traders of the popular Lagos market Ladipo were seen jubilating over the re-opening of the market. Amidst the intense jubilation, one of the men was captured firing gunshots in the air while others jumped in excitement. At first, one would think the man who fired shots was a trader but looking closely, his gun had the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) colors on its cartridge.

While others argued that it was unsafe for a trader to be seen in public firing shots in the air, this man in question seemed like a police officer who was just celebrating with the market traders over the opening of the market. Many have stated that it was wrong to openly shoot in the air in a public place and called upon the Nigeria Police to figure out the man.

Ladipo market was closed down for months by the Government after extreme violation of environmental rules. The spare part market has now fully begun operations after a proper clean-up to ensure it was safe and healthy for both sellers and buyers.

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu through his spokesperson Tokunbo Lawal has urged the traders to comply with the waste management best practices to keep the market safe for all and sundry. Traders have been implored to adhere to the market maintenance instructions to avoid future indefinite closure of the market.
