Former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola said landlords across the country should start collecting monthly rents.
Fashola proposed this during the launch of his book, "Nigeria Public Discourse: The Interplay of Empirical Evidence and Hyperbole" in Lagos on Thursday.
Fashola stated that the yearly payment of rents is becoming overwhelming for tenants and many houses remain unoccupied due to how rents are being collected. Therefore, states across Nigeria should copy and review the tenancy bill passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2011.
