16 passengers have been burnt to death in a motor crash in Osun State.

These victims who were burnt to ashes included a nursing mother and 5 children.

The sad incident took place on Friday evening in Osun State.

In this same accident, 4 others escaped death. This was one of the drivers of the 2 vehicles that collided, a corp member, a lady and an officer.

Mrs Agnes who is the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) mentioned that as at the time of filling the report, the number of casualties are still sketchy.

She said that the FRSC commission will make all the necessary information available.

She mentioned that those who were injured have been taken to a hospital.

An eye witness at the scene had said that a commercial bus which was carrying a gas cylinder had collided with a Lexus Jeep and when they crashed the gas cylinder exploded.
This caused the deceased to be burnt to death.

They revealed that the bus driver who was coming from Osogbo was speeding them lost control and then ran into the Jeep.

The incident happened around 7.00 P.M on Friday.

Sources said that the vehicles burst into flames after the crash so no one could rescue them because they couldn't go near the fire.
