Ogun auto crash leads to death of 1 person and 14 others injured


A recent auto crash in Ogun state has lead to the death of 1 person while 14 others were injured. This accident occured on Long Bridge around Hogan Guard area which is in the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. This incident happened early on Tuesday morning.

The crash involved 2 vehicles which were a Volkswagen minibus and a Toyota Camry car. There had been a total of 16 people involved in the crash. 14 were injured and one person died. The last person was rescued unhurt from the crash.

An eyewitness revaled to newsmen what caused this crash. They revealed that the accident had happened after the tyre of the minibus removed and then this led to loss of control and a collision with the Camry car.
The minibus had been coming from Mowe area in Ogun State and was heading towards Berger in Lagos when this incident occured.

Florence Okpe, who is the Public Relations officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was contacted and she has confirmed the incident.

She stated “I can confirm the accident which happened at about 0650hrs on Tuesday. Two vehicles were involved; a Volkswagen minibus with Registration Number LSF264YD and a Toyota Camry car with Registration Number SMK191FK. The cause of the accident was that the tyre of the Volkswagen bus pulled out while in motion and collided with the Toyota Camry car which resulted in the death of one person while 14 people were injured. A total of 16 people were involved.”

She also added that they have taken the injured victims to the Accident Emergency Hospital in Ojota area, Lagos State. She then mentioned that the corpse of the deceased has also been taken to the Morgue at Divine Touch Hospital.
