The Nigerian correctional service in Lagos has debunked rumours that inmates escaped from the Ikoyi correctional center revealing that they was no jailbreak anywhere in the facility stating that the fire outbreak affected some part of the centre.
Speaking on this declaration was the Spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service in Lagos, Rotimi Oladukun who assure the public that there is no reason to be alarmed adding that a statement would soon be released by the services soon.
He said; There was a fire on a part of the correctional centre but it has been contained. It did not affect the inmates in anyway. There is no jail breal and all is fine. We will issue a statement soon".
