Pandemonium as fire engulfs stores at Eko Idumota market
Once again, fire breaks out at the famous Eko Idumota market in the early hours of the 20th of March, 2024. The majority of the stores were still closed when this happened and the Lagos State Fire fighting crew was immediately alerted about the incident. By the time they arrived at the scene, the fire had gushed out of the store that was burning and it had begun escalating.
In this short clip, firefighters were spotted inside their red truck and a few traders were seen running into the store to save a few of the goods they could. Occurrences like this are becoming more prevalent in the Eko Idumota market and this is beginning to raise concerns among citizens. There are speculations in the media claiming the wires in the building could be the cause of the mishaps.
