President Bola Ahmed has appointed Egbetokun Olukayode as the Acting Inspector General of Police. Egbetokun was Tinubu's former Chief Security Officer and has replaced DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo.

Egbetokun Olukayode was born on September 4, 1964 in Erinja, Yewa South LGA of Ogun state.

In 1987, Egbetokun graduated with a BSc in mathematics at the University of Lagos. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1990, and in 1999, he was appointed chief security officer to Tinubu, then Governor of Lagos State.

Besides bagging a BSc from the prestigious University of Lagos, he bagged an MSc in engineering analysis from Unilag, in 1996.

In 2004, Egbetokun has MBA from Lagos State University and a post-graduate diploma in petroleum economics from Delta State University.

Olukayode Egbetokun has served as:​

1. Chief Superintendent of Police Administration, Lagos State Command Head Quarters, Ikeja.

2. The Commander of Rapid Response Squad, Lagos.

3. The Area Commander, Osogbo, Osun State Command.

4. Area Commander, Gusau, Zamfara State Command.

5. Squadron Commander, Mopol 5, Benin, Benin City.

6. Officer-in-Charge of Anti-Fraud Unit, FCT Command, Abuja.
